WALDSEE 1944

Waldsee is a fictive vilage, never existed, only as location of registration, and mentioned as a safe and pieceful place on those postcards. These postcards were in real life sent out from Auswitz-Birkenau by the prisoners on command. 80 years later gallery 2B in Budapest asked artists, writers and composers, to create reflective works to the original exhibited postcards. They recorded Lapok, among others pieces, and it can be listened through a headphone as part of the exhibition.

107 PHRASES about Studio Dan´s extended album Braxton et al.

The magnifique Studio Dan asked me to write linear notes for their album dedicated to the music of my beloved teacher Anthony Braxton. among them his composition 107. I ended up with 107 partly poetic phrases, each referring to the pieces of the album. At their concert I will read and recite this text in collaboration with improvising instrumentalists of the ensemble.

MiKamO, the Central-European Chamber Orchstra lead by Ajtony Csaba will play three creative pieces composed especially for their program entitled "What is the Word". It was an important part of the composition process to know what work by Görgy Kurtag or Salvatore Scarrino (among others) will be played after or before these short pieces.

aNOther Festival is led by Weiya Lin and Johannes Kretz, great friends and long time collaborators they started the festival almost 15 years ago as an activity of our little Vienna based community, the IKult Associations. In the recent years I am part of the curatorial board again. Every edition has a rich and very diverse program around one theme or idea. I am very happy to be part of this movement. I will present the HoME HOUSE installation and the excellent percussion player Marton Szives will premiere the new work Hands - Monument VI dedicated to him, both these on the second days of the festival at Gallery Hinterland.
