Research is, and always was an elementary part of my artistic activities, even if in many cases academic writing or any precise documentation of the research process itself was not published as a part of a work. My artistic doctorate research between 2013 and 2019 at the University of Theater- and Film-Arts Budapest, was an important boost for sharing the complex results of artistic research. In the past years, I had a chance to initiate or be part of research projects and teams. This activity is interwoven both with my teaching (as doctorate supervisor of artistic research center at the mdw), and curatorial practice as well as artistic leader of several international projects. Newer projects are usually announced at the News section of the homepage.

A list of written publications is available here. Some of these available through academia.edu

A few of the most important projects I was participating were the followings:

HoME - House. Music. Europe was initiated and led by me between 2020 and 2024. It was a cooperation between four new music organizations from Austria, Hungary, Serbia and Spain and 12 young artists selected through an international call. We created together a traveling outdoor installation that was able to create real-time sonification of participating audience´s personal storytelling actions, an exhibition as well as a music-theater performance. Project was co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.

Creative (Mis)Understandings - Methodologies of Inspiration was an artistic research project initiated by Weiya Lin and Johannes Kretz at the mdw. I was involved as a researcher-composer. Part of the project´s results can be seen at the website Maps of Creative (Mis)Understandings. Project was funded by the PEEK Programme of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF)

This project aims to develop transcultural approaches of inspiration (which we regard as mutually appreciated intentional and reciprocal artistic influence based on solidarity) by combining approaches from contemporary music composition and improvisation with ethnomusicological and sociological research.
